2021.12.08 04:00 RakshithP2020 $MONSTA * $OASIS games when ... When !!
2021.12.08 04:00 Fearless_Mushroom332 Feats I came up with while bored at work
Encompass or singularity: Requirement: spellcasting of some sort. When a caster gains the ability the have learned to control the waves of magic that their spells create. When The user casts a spell that creates an aoe effect that deals damage they may subtract 5 feet from the aoes radius/distance and add 1 extra damage dice, this may be done until the spell only targets 1 target. When the caster casts a spell that targets 1 creature and deals damage the caster may choose to subtract 1 damage dice to add 5 feet of aoe to the spell (the dm may dictate if this has a maximum amount and if added effects like those from finger of death are still added on to the spell) This may be done a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier per long rest. (short rest may be allowed for warlocks dms fiat)
Bloodweave: Requirement spellcasting of some sort. You learn to weave your very essence into your spells strengthening them and replenishing your casting slots. The caster may increase the number of targets effected by spells like irresistible dance by sacrificing 2 hit dice per extra creature effected The caster may also choose to expend 3 hit dice to regain a 1st level spell slot. 6 for a 2nd 9 for a 3rd 12 for a 5th. This can he done as may times as you wish so long as you have the hit dice for it.
Bladeworks: Requirements: 3 levels in any martial focused class (pact of the blade warlock, swords college and bladesinger wizard may be allowed ask your dm) Having practiced and fought with the metals of the earth you have learned to tell how much punishment your weapons and armour can take before being sundered...but might this be what you want? When you start a long rest you may pick 2 of the following features as well as gaining proficiency in Smith's tools.
1 Brittle steel. When you choose this ability you purposely damage your weapons creating shards that break off in your opponents creating difficulty when they try to evade blows and steel themselves. When you strike a enemy you must state it is a brittle steel strike on the next dexterity save or consave the creature you strike makes they must roll the damage dice of your weapon and subtract half the roll from their save You may only use this feature 6 times per long rest and while you still have a use of this feature you may add the number of uses to your intimidation rolls.
Elegant/Runic engravings: While you are not entirely well versed in the workings of the weave you know enough to carve words of minor power into your weapons and armor for protection and offense. When you pick this skill you may inscribe your weapon or armour with runic engravings gifting you a brief window to cast 1 cantrip of your choice from any school so long as you learn the words form a class who cast the spell. If the spell requires an attack roll you may make the roll with the weapon that you engraved it on. You may do this until your next long rest at which point the runes disappear. You also gain a bonus to your arcana rolls equal to half your proficiency. You may only have 1 rune per long rest active.
Brute Force: Who needs to learn where to strike or bother chasing down a foe when you can simply force him to yield through pain? When you take this skill you learn precision and elegance are overrated Brute force is far more useful, when making a strike you may choose to roll either a d4 or d20. When rolling a d4 on a 4 the creature loses 10 feet of movement regardless if its flying walking or swimming though this dose not stack. If rolling a d20 and you get a 20 you may choose to either roll 2 extra damage dice of your weapons type OR drop its movement to 0 so long as its size isn't gargantuan if it is the speed is halved.
Shattered steel: Many think sundered armour and shattered blades are useless...but you know better. At the beginning of a long rest you weight down your armour more than it should be and practice with the scraped weapons 9f your fallen foes to prepare your self for the inevitable. When you you take a critical hot in combat you may choose to lean into the blow letting it sunder your armour this drops your ac by 1 each time you do this BUT you gain an increase to you movement speed of 10 feet to a maximum of 30 feet until the end of the fight. When you crit fail an attack you may choose to snap crack or chip your weapon gaining a +3 to the damage but a -2 to the roll If either of these are done the negatives are permanent till you spend 30 mins with your Smith tools repairing your gear. This also gives you proficiency in deception for the long rest so long as your weapons arent damaged.
Splintering steel: When the wizard runs dry of spells we will always be holding the lines. Each long rest you may hastily meld brittle glass vials to your weapons these vials may contain any substance you find so long as you can feasible put it on the vial. When striking an opponent you must declare it a Splintering steel strike. If the strike hits you may apply the effects of what was in the vial on the creature struck. While the creature also takes 2d4 non magical (unless the vial is magical like that of a potion of alchemists fire) slashing damage.

2021.12.08 04:00 canderson18181 Why is it okay for 'politics' subreddit here to be so one-sided
Going onto the 'politics' subreddit and without fail, every single fucking post is a clear left/progressive article, complete with the same echo chamber bullshit comments left under every other article like its impressive to win the favor of people who think exactly like you. Like I get Reddit's more liberal but damn. Even after Trump's out of office, it's like every 3rd fucking story has something about Trump meanwhile Biden gets an article here or there, you'd think Trump was still in office. I really don't lean strongly politically myself I'd like to think there's some nuance and it just drives me nuts seeing a subreddit described as 'political' yet will only propagate one side.

2021.12.08 04:00 Sourmilkgum My interpretation of the title: “Channel Orange”
Since most of us have short attention spans I’ll try to keep it brief…
The “orange” of Channel orange most likely originates from the phrase “as queer as a clockwork orange”. Many people have analyzed that channel Orange is Frank’s official “coming out” album and this would make sense. Frank titling an album with songs dealing with his sexuality, and making reference to the aforementioned phrase, is a very artistically well thought out and layered move that I believe is well within character for frank. However, I would take it a step further and remember that “queer” is a double entendre and it can mean both homosexual and strange.
Now if you’re a fan of Kubrick’s work this next paragraph is probably pretty straightforward. Frank is a big fan of Stanley Kubrick as he makes many mentions of him on his songs (too many to count) so there’s a very easy connection to make here. One of Kubrick’s most famous works is “A Clockwork Orange” with the title of the movie taken directly from the aforementioned phrase (another layering meaning added). If you have watched “A Clockwork Orange”, you would know that the movie is very… Kubrick-esque. The Movie is open for interpretation as it deals with human nature, sex, society, and just about everything in between. With that being said, there very well might be another connection between the themes movie and the themes of “Channel Orange” that can be found and I would love to hear y’all’s thoughts.
Lastly, the “channel” part of channel Orange most likely represents TV channels of some sort. There’s the tv channel changing sound effects in fertilizer and frank likes to use the cassette tape affect in nostalgia ultra.
With all this being said, channel Orange is a look into Frank’s life if his life were a tv show, which it very well might be as he is a prominent figure in the public eye. If you guys have anymore cool connections please feel free to add. If this post sounds nutty and outlandish then idk what to tell you. Danke
What happened to keeping it brief amirite?
TLDR: Orange= as queer as a clockwork Orange = a clockwork Orange by Stanley Kubrick

2021.12.08 04:00 Ohnoaspoiler Can someone relate? F31 lost over 23 kg this year
As the title says: I lost more than 23 kg this years. I dived right in to 20:4/OMAD. Not only did I lose weight my skin (redness and stuff) also improved. Around August I think I had more hairloss than usual. I thought it was lack of protein and because I wanted to go slow and steady I decided I would try maintainance for a couple months and go for further weightloss in 2022. My skin and my mind could try to adjust to the new me. It was hard to find balance between fasting and eating at first. I now got the hang of it. I have got the feeling that I won't gain back weight as easily as before i did IF. After a cheatweekend the weightgain is pretty minimal. Probably because I get full way faster than before. I slowly lost another kg last month. It just that I have a hard time adjusting that I am not that of a big person anymore. Still quite chubby, but not with a BMI of almost 40 as before. I don't always recognise myself in store windows. And then I read articles online that say that almost 80% of the people gain most of their weight back after and I think: what are the chances that I can make this work long term? The odds are slim according to statistics. I then feel this is a temporary-me if that makes sense, and bigger me is still in there and will maybe be back again. Can anyone relate to this feeling?

2021.12.08 04:00 migrantgrower Why is my cardio not improving after four months of intense working out and losing 80lbs? + diet questions.
So, about four months ago, weighing 480lbs at age 32, I decided it was high time for a massive change. I'd tried dieting a couple times in the past, but gave up very quickly. Always hated physical activity- walking in particular... I dreaded it... still do. The big difference this time around was that I found a physical activity which I actually liked. Boxing. It is probably the most physically-demanding activity I could've stumbled on, but the fact that it's so fun and engaging (and such a stress-relief) make it such that I've stuck to it... and not just in some casual way where I do it once or twice a week. I started going three times a week to a coach who knew I needed much more than "just" boxing... so we did a lot of cardio and strength & conditioning. Then I started going four times a week, eventually five- and know six times a week. Each workout is between 1.5-2 hours and spans various different activities from boxing (bag work, mitts, as well as moving around with coach or someone else- not full sparring quite yet though) to treadmill, bicycle, weights (shoulder press, row, deadlift, even pushing those big heavy sleds, etc.), etc.
I am constantly in a state of great discomfort while training and always sore after- things which in my past life would've definitely caused me to abandon immediately... but even after that very first gruelling session which had my extremely sore for close to a week, I found something highly addictive about it and just fell in love. So despite always being somehow in a state of discomfort, I am hooked and keep going back. Now I usually see my coach just twice a week (sometimes three) and signed up at a great full-featured gym (which happens to have a great boxing program) to work more on strength + condition and cardio since he was lacking the tools. It's a good balance, but I sacrifice 1-2 days of more boxing-oriented exercise as a result, which is fine for the time being. I do have a goal to compete on an amateur level, at least a handful of fights, so will go even more all-in on the straight boxing eventually once I hit my goal weight (around 230lbs).
The one thing I've noticed is that even despite months of these intense workouts (several of which (namely the boxing itself) are extremely cardio-intensive) and 80lbs lost, is that my cardio is still pretty abysmal. And of course at 400lbs I still have a ton of weight on me, so probably no surprise that cardio is still horrible... but it's just that I would've expected at least SOME kind of perceptible difference for the better. My heart is still pounding just as easily and as hard and fast just a few minutes into our warmup stretches/exercises just as when I first started. I just get gassed out so freakin' quickly. We normally do 30-45 second rounds, but at the gym I've toyed with three minute rounds a few times, and, well, felt like dying by the end of a few rounds of those- genuinely thought I might get a heart attack. I'm just curious if this is simply due to the weight, despite doing many cardio-intense workouts, or if it's something else?
Lastly, briefly wanted to touch on diet... I never did the calorie counting thing, but at the beginning of this new journey was what I'd call "very strict". I did (and still do) a 16:8-20:4 IF, usually two meals a day with a snack in-between. Also did a fairly drastic calorie cut from a ballpark 3500-4k cal/day before (diet had to semblance of regularity- I ate anything I wanted at any time, no order) to roughly 1,500-2,500/day when starting. I'm still around that point, but less strict. I do a weekly cheat, but sometimes it ends up being 1.5 cheats/week. On the cheat meal, I still stay relatively clean most of the time- not going nuts with burgers, fried chicken, pizza, etc. But I also don't let calorie counting impact my enjoyment of food or impede on social gatherings I attend (though I've NOT had the pizza and wings on every hangout night with my friends since starting). I have always loved food and continue to, but now am a lot more strict with what I feed my body. My diet routine is far from perfect as I'm still trying to tweak it so as to help get the most power and energy for the workouts. I can put down a lot of food if needed so don't need any protein shakes or such- would rather just eat an extra chicken breast. But it really is a slow science noticing what works for you and what doesn't. My coach can, incredibly, tell the difference between when I've eaten too much (often less-than-great food) vs. too little, despite the results manifesting themselves very similarly... sluggish vs. gassed-out. He's been right each time I've been either as a result of diet.
Going into this, I knew there'd be plateaus at times... and it seems I've hit a big one now. Three weeks in a row after my weekly cheat meal I got back up to 410lbs (+10lbs overnight, whether it's water weight, sodium, whatever) and had to bust my ass off all week to get back down to 400. Three. times. in. a. row. I knew there'd be discouraging moments, but this is a big one I'm currently in the midst of and trying to finally blast past- hoping this is the weekend by which I'm finally under 400 and not bouncing back up. Really sucks when you bust your ass off in the gym doing all these gruelling workouts for up to two hours each day six days a week only to have to lose the same weight again. Will just do two cheat meals a month instead- really not that hard for me to cut down on them since I try to make my daily food as enjoyable as it is regardless.
TL;DR Started boxing @ 480lbs four months ago, very intense training 6 x a week currently (1.5-2hrs each session), doing 16:8-20:4 IF and clean eating (drastic calorie cut), lots of cardio and strength and condition training, down 80lbs so far, but cardio is still awful... seems same as before... is this normal/what am I doing wrong/how can I improve? Also, hitting plateau going from 400-410 3 weeks in a row (lost + gained + lost + gained...)- do I take one cheat meal off or just keep going?
